Wilma was born August 22, 1929, in rural Webster County to Earl R. and Jessie (Christy) Osborn. She graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1948. She married Elmer L. Kinley on September 4, 1948, in Hastings. They farmed north of Bladen until retiring and moving to Hastings in 1989. She was a long time Mary Lanning Hospital Auxiliary member, as well as a Red Cross Volunteer. Her cherry pies were unmatched, as was her sense of humor and quiet grace that did not waver even in the last stages of fighting breast cancer. She grew hibiscus in vivid hues the size of bowling balls, every important family function featured her scotcheroos and she had a keen mind for storytelling that often featured several generations of Adams and Webster County residents.
Wilma is survived by three children, daughter Margie Koenig (Richard) of Sugar Land, TX; sons, E. Lyle Kinley (Gwen Teeple) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and John Kinley (Jill) of Bladen, NE; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren as well as two brothers, James Osborn and Rodney Osborn of Holdrege, NE.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; an infant daughter, Lyla; and an infant son, Robert.
