Rodney Gene Rose, 75, Blue Hill, Nebraska passed away on Sunday April 5, 2026, at the VA Medical Center, Grand Island, Nebraska. Service will be Monday, April 13, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, Rosemont, Nebraska with Pastor Micah Guant officiating. Burial with Military Rites by Kent Kailey Post #45 and the Army National Guard Honor’s team will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials can be directed to the American Diabetes Association or Calvary Lutheran Church. The service will be live-streamed on Merten-Butler Mortuary’s website. Rodney was born on July 1, 1950, to Menno J. and LaVon R. (Cornelius) Rose in Hastings, Nebraska. He graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1968. He then went to Central Community College in Hastings and graduated with a degree in welding. Rodney married June K. Lambrecht on April 4, 1992, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hastings, Nebraska. He loved farming, nature, fishing and hunting. When his nieces and nephews were little, he loved to entertain them on the farm. Rodney was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where he had held several offices and Kent Kailey Post #45, Lawrence, Nebraska.
Rodney is survived by his wife, June, Blue Hill, Nebraska; one brother, Ken Rose, Hastings, Nebraska; three sisters, Marilyn (Russ) Heikes, Lawrence, Kansas, Diane (Roger) Hemberger, Hastings, Nebraska, Linda (Ron) Hemberger, Hastings, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dwayne; two nephews, Adam and Jared Hemberger; one great niece, Mary Terese Heikes.
