Rita Mack Obituary

Rita L. Mack, 61, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.  Book Signing will be Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with family present.  Rosary will be Wednesday, February 19, 2020, 7:00 p.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska and Mass will be Thursday, February 20, 2020, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska with the Very Rev. James Schrader and Father Thomas Brouillette officiating.  Burial of Ashes will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Harrison, Nebraska on Saturday, February 22, 2020.    A memorial has been established to be designated at a later date and may be directed to the family.  Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com.  Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.

 

Rita was born in Crawford, NE on October 13, 1958 to Robert (Bob) and Mary (Eberspecher) Grimm. She graduated from Sioux County High School in 1976. Rita was married to Steven Mack on September 6, 1976. After spending 13 years in Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming, they made a home to raise their family in Blue Hill, NE in 1989. She worked a variety of jobs, but was most notably a wife and mother. Rita valued her faith and family above all else. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the altar society, and bible study. She and her husband loved to travel, seeing new sights and visiting friends and family throughout all of the lower 48 states over the past several years. Rita cherished spending time with her grandchildren, not only attending their many activities, but she was especially good at creating memories with them and making sure they knew they were special. Rita was known for her kind heart, infectious smile and laugh, love for conversation, and great sense of humor. She is survived by her husband , Steve of Blue Hill; mother, Mary (Grimm) Semroska of Harrison; mother-in-law, Edith Mack of Scottsbluff; four daughters, Stephanie (Scott) Bonifas of Blue Hill, Jessica (Kevin) DeMarco of Omaha, Katie (Justin) Staab of Gretna, and Joni (James) Dinville of Aurora; one son, Jordan (Lindsay) Mack of Lincoln; three brothers, Joe (Jodi) Grimm of Mesa, Tom (Colleen) Grimm of Elwood, and Alan Grimm of Harrison; brother-in-law, Gerry (Karen) Mack of Craig, CO; 13 grandchildren, Taylor, Jamie, & Jake Bonifas, Maverick DeMarco, Owen and Ellie Staab, Emersyn, Kooper, & Callen Dinville, and Aubrey, Laynie, Ryker, and Harper Mack; numerous nieces and nephews, & countless friends. She was preceded in death by her dad, Bob Grimm, her step-dad, Donald (Tub) Semroska, father-in-law, Charles Mack, granddaughter, Hope Staab, and nephew, Todd Grimm.
