Paul David Alber, 27, of rural Guide Rock peacefully passed away on Friday, April 19th, 2024 at his home. Paul was born November 25th, 1996 to David and Tamara (Maupin) Alber in Hastings, Ne. He attended the Life Skills education program in Hastings. Paul graduated from Superior High School in 2014.                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Paul enjoyed being outside especially riding in the tractor when he was younger. He was a member of the Warrior 4-H Club. He was baptized, December 22, 1996 and was a lifelong member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Rosemont, Ne. As Paul got older, he showed more and more attitude. He would cross his arms, his legs, and give the “glare” since he could not talk. He traveled with his family to many places including Tennessee, North Carolina, Colorado to visit grandparents, Yellowstone, the Black Hills, and Disney World. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edgar and Barbara Alber, and uncle Randall Alber.

Survivors include his parents David and Tamara (Maupin) Alber of Guide Rock, Ne; sisters and their spouses, Sara and Derek Wedemeyer of Ravenna, Ne; Christa and Mac McCutcheon of Hardy, Ne; grandparents Wendell and Betty Maupin of Loveland, Co; aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of extended family, and many friends.   

  Services will be held on Friday, April 26th, 2024 at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska with Pastor Ronald Kuehner officiating. The burial will follow at Zion Lutheran cemetery, of rural Lawrence, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm with family present on Thursday, April 25th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska and one hour prior to services at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Orphan Grain Train or the Lawrence Fire and Rescue.  The service will be live-streamed on Merten-Butler Mortuary’s website.  To view the service, go to Paul’s obituary and click on the play button towards the bottom of the page.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com.  Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
