Eldon Lee Kearney, 79, Blue Hill, Nebraska died Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, Nebraska.  Services will be Wednesday, May 29, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Leah Krotz officiating.  Burial will be 1:30 p.m. at the Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska.  Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska.  Memorials can be directed to The Mark and Michelle Callahan Fire Fund due to losing their house to fire in Harvard.  Private family condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com.  Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.

Eldon was born on November 28, 1939 to John T. and Rosa E. (Schmidt) Kearney at Glenvil, Nebraska.  Eldon graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1957.  He married Judy Spooner in 1960 and they later divorced.  Eldon worked for Kansas-Nebraska Gas Co. and then T & L Irrigation company until his motorcycle accident in 1971.  Eldon moved to Blue Hill in 1953 from Ayr, Nebraska. 

Eldon is survived by two sons; Rick Kearney, Cheyenne, Wyoming, John (Rebecca) Kearney, Blue Hill, Nebraska, one sister; June Goudy, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, three grandchildren; Amanda Grimm, Mikaela and Adam Kearney.  Eldon is preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Jackson Kearney, one sister; Marilyn Andera, brother-in-laws; Bob Andera and Jerry Goudy, one granddaughter; Rikki Darling and one great granddaughter.
