Dorothy Ann Kosmacek, 87, Glenvil, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday January 16, 2024 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska. Rosary will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 1:00 p.m. and Mass will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 1:30 p.m. both at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska with Father Adam Sparling Officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Hill Catholic Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Pauline Methodist Church. The service will be live-streamed on Merten-Butler Mortuary’s website. Dorothy was born on January 26, 1936 to Frank and Mary (Lukas) Kosmacek on the family farm at Spring Ranch, Nebraska. Due to the death of her mom on February 4, 1936, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Joseph and Bessie (Lukas) Samek on the farm by Pauline, Nebraska. Dorothy attended Elementary School in Pauline, Nebraska and graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1954.
She was always a FARMER! She did crops, had chickens, ducks, and cattle. Also, dogs and cats. She was on the Pauline School Board, an Election Worker, and a clerk at the Pauline Post Office. She also babysat the kids of the neighborhood.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Especially Marlys, Leonard and Melvin Haba and many cousins. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; uncle and aunt, mom and dad; siblings, Joseph Kosmacek, Frank and wife Joann(Myers Day) Kosmacek, Agnes and husband, Laudie Haba, Mary Alice and husband, Ronald Witte, Rudolph and wife Rodie(Everett) Kosmacek; niece, Lyla (Haba) and husband Ronald Motley; nephew, Kevin Kosmacek.
