Deyman D. Meyer, 94, Campbell, Nebraska passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society-St Johns, Kearney, Nebraska. Service will be Saturday, September 14, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Campbell, Nebraska with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Campbell, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, September 13, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home, Campbell, Nebraska and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Orphan Grain Train or the Campbell Volunteer Fire Department. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com. Deyman Dale Meyer was born on March 9, 1930 to Paul H. and Mathilda (Henkel) Meyer on the farm in Franklin County, Nebraska. Deyman graduated from Campbell High School in 1948. He then served in the United States Navy from September 11, 1948 to September 10, 1949. Deyman married Betty M. Morgan on April 24, 1955 at the Presbyterian Church in Campbell, Nebraska. He owned Meyer Appliance for a few years, worked on construction of elevators and grain bins and also did some farming during this time. He then went into farming full time.
Deyman is survived by his wife, Betty, Campbell, Nebraska; two sons, Dana (Mitzi) Meyer, Campbell, Nebraska, Jay (Janet) Meyer, Campbell, Nebraska; one daughter, Mitzi Murphy, Omaha, Nebraska; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Delores Herd, Portland, Oregon, Bonnie (Lee) Preston, Lincoln, Nebraska, Joe (Vicki) Morgan, Campbell, Nebraska, Linda Morgan, Minden, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Derek (Ashley) Meyer, Sydney (Alex) Tipton, Ashley (Brian) Melvin, Jamison Murphy, Blake Meyer, Brie Meyer, Brooklyn Meyer, Chelsea (Nick) Loveless; ten great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jillaine Volker; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley (Glenn) Meyer; three brothers-in-law, Bill Nelson, Sam Herd and DeLano Morgan.
