Rhonda Lea Cox

Rhonda L. Cox, 60, of La Vista, NE, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018, at The Hospice House-The Josie Harper Residence, Omaha, NE.

Family will be present for a visitation on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Blue Hill Community Center, Blue Hill, Nebraska from 10:00 a.m.-Noon.  A private burial will occur this summer at the Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association or the Hospice House-The Josie Harper Residence, 7415 Cedar St., Omaha, NE 68124.  Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com.  Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.

Rhonda was born on August 14, 1958, in Lincoln, NE, to Leland and Wanda (Burge) Wright.  She graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1976.  She married Steven Cox on December 23, 1983, at Manassas, VA.  She worked for Prince William Hospital.  She returned to Nebraska in 2008 and worked at Mary Lanning Healthcare, RYDE Transit and Hastings Public Schools.  She enjoyed camping, Friday drives through the country, riding her bike, beach trips at the Outer Banks, spending time with family and spoiling her six grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Steven Cox, of La Vista, NE; two daughters, Kelly Cox, of Hastings, NE, and Megan (Aaron) Anderson of Ralston, NE; four grandsons, Colby Cox-Andrews of Hastings, NE, Jayden and Hunter Anderson of Ralston, NE, Trevor Turlington of Onancock, VA; two granddaughters, Aubree and Olivia Cox, Hastings, NE; parents, Leland and Wanda Wright, Waco, NE; and brothers, Mike (Angie) Wright of Waco, NE, and Rod (Bev) Wright of Chappell, NE.
