Pam Karr Niemeyer
Former Blue Hill resident, Pam S. Karr Niemeyer, 70, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Blue Hill Care Center. Service is 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, with Rev. Jeffrey Kuddes officiating. Burial will be at the Blue Hill Cemetery in Blue Hill.
Visitation on Sunday, April 28, will be at the Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, from 1-8 p.m. with family present from 4-6 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials can be directed to the GRACE Cancer Foundation or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, is in charge of the arrangements.
Pam was born September 28, 1948, in Geneva, Nebraska, to Dennis and Evelyn (Churchill) Albro. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1966 and from Kearney State College in 1970.
Pam married Robert Karr on June 1, 1968. They moved to the Blue Hill area to farm and were blessed with four children, Vonda, Mike, Nikki, and Dan. They were married thirty-seven years. She taught elementary school at Blue Hill, Ayr, and Pauline for many years, as well as worked other jobs in the Hastings and Blue Hill area. Bob and Pam also owned and managed the Best Western Motel in Brush, Colorado, from 1995 to 2001. She was active in P.E.O., taught Sunday school, enjoyed ceramics, attended countless children’s and grandchildren’s activities, and was an exceptional cook. Bob passed away in 2005. She married Lyle Niemeyer on August 20, 2011, and they were married for seven years.
Pam was preceded in death by husband, Bob Karr; husband, Lyle Niemeyer; father, Dennis Albro; stepfather Walter Luethke; two nephews, and one niece.
Survivors include mother, Evelyn Luethke of York; sister, Sharon Mongan of Fountain Hills, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Betty (Ron) Kort of Hastings and Joyce Hawthorne of Lincoln; children, Vonda (David) Tubbs of Marquette; Mike (Diane) Karr of Blue Hill; Nicole (Jim) Dietz of Grand Island; Dan (Mandy) Karr of Aurora; stepchildren, Duane (Linda) Niemeyer of Redlands, CA; Deb (Bruce) Garrelts of Kearney; Daren (Buffy) Niemeyer of Bladen; eleven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and three nieces.
