Larry Lee Kort

Larry Lee Kort, 82, Ayr, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.  Service will be Thursday, June 27, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska with Pastor Leah Krotz officiating.  Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska.  Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 9:00 a.m.-8:00p.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary and one hour prior to service at the church.  Memorials can be directed to the Church.  Private family condolences may be sent to the family at www.mertenbutlermortuary.com.  Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.

Larry was born on March 8, 1937 to Clarence and Mary (Mohlman) Kort.  He received his education at a Rural School and graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1955.  In 1956 he graduated from Telegraph School in Milford, Nebraska.  He began working for Burlington Northern Railroad in several different locations in Nebraska where he met his wife of 62 years Patricia I. McCool.  They were united in marriage on December 8, 1957.  He then returned to Blue Hill to farm with his father and brother Jerry Kort.  Larry loved to camp and fish.  He also enjoyed working on old tractors which he restored.  He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

This union was blessed with four sons; Mike (Nancy) Kort, Blue Hill, Nebraska, Ken Kort, Blue Hill, Nebraska, Kevin (Donna) Kort, Blue Hill, Nebraska, Lonnie (Carrie) Kort, Blue Hill, Nebraska; three daughters, Peggy (Ron) Meyer, Hastings, Nebraska, Pam (Heath) Arterburn, Blue Hill, Nebraska and Jessica Alber, Blue Hill, Nebraska; Very close nephew; Randy Kort and his family; (21) grandchildren, (22) great grandchildren.  Larry was preceded in death by his Parents and Brother; Jerry Kort.
